December’s Winner for “The Spotlight is on You” Contest is None Other Than…

All of the entries we received for December’s contest were once again, spectacular. In fact, each month the designs just seem to get better and better. This made it particularly difficult for our judges to choose a winner for December, which had both a nature theme and a contemporary design theme.

Nonetheless, choose a winner they did and that winner was, once again, Othmar Wicke! Othmar is our three-time winner and as you look at his winning design, you can see why. His wasp ring design not only met our criteria for originality, beauty, creativity, and printability, but it also surpassed them! Congratulations Othmar!

We also want to take another moment to share a few of the amazing designs submitted by our other designers. You can see for yourselves why our judges had such a difficult time choosing a winner.

Raul Cuevas Desings “The Spotlight is on You” judge, Esther Lithgart, said that Raul Cuevas has “unique designs and he takes a fresh approach to jewelry… and is perhaps the most original in the contest”,

Erick Smith Designs – Anthony DeMarco – another “The Spotlight is on You” judge, while admiring all of Erick Smith’s creative and beautiful submissions, said of the Luna engagement ring design in particular that “as an engagement ring it is truly an innovative design for a category that changes very little.”

These were just a few samples of the stunning designs we received for the contest. Stick around to see more because the contest isn’t over yet! There is still the month of January to submit your designs for a chance to win the grand prize: your design displayed at Baselworld 2016! This is truly an incredible opportunity for all 3d jewelry designers, so make sure you don’t miss out. The deadline for January’s submissions is January 31st. Start submitting today! The more your submit, the better your chances of winning. January’s theme is ‘Anything Goes’, so don’t be afraid to let your imagination run wild.

The winner for Jauary’s contest and the grand prize winner will be announced February 15th!
