Art Deco Black Opal Ring with Custom-Cut Ruby & Sapphire
This ring was built around a single boulder opal, prong-set in a raised bezel so the stone reads as the clear focal point of the design. Radiating outward from the setting, custom-cut ruby and lab-grown purple sapphire accents step down in size along an Art Deco-inspired linework pattern that wraps the shank on both sides. The recessed geometric channels between the metal lines are filled with black enamel for contrast, and a matching pierced lattice grille lines the interior of the band. The design was developed collaboratively over an extended period, with the client supplying the center opal and working through custom stone-cutting, prong styling, and finish details before the ring was cast in 14k yellow gold. A two-line inscription is engraved inside the band. The result is a dense, dimensional ring built for someone who wanted their own design vision executed with precision.
