Tis the season for proposals…. tra lalalala lalalala

Indeed it is. According to weddingwire.com, Christmas day is the most popular time of year to pop the question. It’s not difficult to understand why either. In the meantime, enjoy these suggestions for original ways to present your engagement ring:

  1. The old box, inside a box, inside a box proposal – always fun, always a surprise, always special. For this proposal idea, you’ll need several different size boxes that can fit inside each other, enough wrapping paper to wrap each box, and a fiancé with a lot of patience!
  2. Another fun one is to hide the ring at the bottom of your partner’s Christmas stocking along with all the other little gifts in there. Just make sure the ring is at the bottom of the stocking, so it’s not the first gift in the stocking that your partner sees.
  3. Buy your partner a pair of gloves and hide the ring in the ring finger of the glove. You’ll have to make sure your partner tries on the glove when you give it as your gift, which might take a little doing, but this is truly a unique and romantic proposal.
  4. The traditional proposal under some mistletoe is also very romantic and sure to invite a lot of kisses too!
  5. A little more work involved with this one, but a treasure hunt proposal is always fun. Design the hunt so that there are plenty of items to find before the engagement ring can be found, and write clever, suspense-building clues to build anticipation and excitement for that final, memorable gift – the engagement ring.
  6. Another classic Christmas proposal, but one that never gets old, is to hang the engagement ring on a Christmas tree suspended from a ribbon that your partner will easily see Christmas morning.
  7. Hide the ring in a beautifully wrapped, delicious box of chocolate. Just make sure the chocolates are opened early on!
  8. Give the ring in a Christmas card. Cards are always special and meaningful, so even if you don’t traditionally give cards on Christmas, this is the time to make an exception. Give the card to your partner along with another delightful gift and write something meaningful on the card that your partner will treasure. This is definitely one of the most heartwarming ways to go!

At the end of the day, whether a proposal is elaborate or simple, receiving a beautiful engagement ring on Christmas Day, is going to be thrilling!
