Rendering for 3D Jewelry Design

The word ‘render’ can have many different meanings, but when it comes to 3D design, ‘render’ has a very specific meaning; 3D rendering is the process of creating a 2D image from 3D data stored in computer files. 3D rendering is a very important part of the 3D jewelry design process, as the rendering stage is what allows us to see what the final design will look like. Unlike jewelry photography, which produces an image of the already created jewelry piece, 3D rendering creates an image of the jewelry piece to be.
There are similarities, however, between jewelry photography and jewelry rendering. For example, both use lighting, diffusers, thematic backgrounds, reflections, angle, distance, depth, and more to create the perfect jewelry image. A great deal of skill is also required for creating both types of images.
One of the many benefits of jewelry rendering over jewelry photography is that the renders can be created relatively quickly with stunning results, and without having to cast and mold the design to take the photo. The image used for this post is of course, a jewelry render. You can see more examples of beautiful jewelry renders when you browse some of the designs on Jewelrythis.
