Overview

We first met May when she came to us distraught because she had lost her wedding ring, which she’d been wearing since she’d been married – 17 years. May explained that she had tried to go back to the store where she and her husband had originally purchased the ring, but the store was closed and she had nowhere to go to buy another ring that looked just like her old ring.

In fact, May had been searching for someone to replicate her ring for over two years, when she finally heard about Jewelrythis and decided to see if we were up to the challenge.

The Jewelry Journey

The problem we faced with recreating May’s wedding ring was twofold: 1) She only had a single, blurry photo of her ring and a photo of a similar ring found online for our designer to use to recreate her ring; 2) The ring had a unique finish that was not clearly captured in her photo so we had to rely solely on her verbal description to replicate the finish. we set about the task hoping to turn May’s distress into happiness.

By using both images of the ring, we were able to recreate a CAD model of May’s wedding ring to her exact specifications, incorporating design details and features of the original wedding ring. She approved the model for casting and finishing. Aron, Jewelrythis’ CAD Master, was even able to reproduce the same textured finish as the original ring by carefully using a hammer to create the desired look.

The Results

The result is the beautiful wedding ring you see below. May approved this model, after which we then cast, finished and shipped the ring to a very happy client.
