Preserving the Past: Crafting a New Wedding Ring with My Original Stone

Jewelry is more than just an accessory; it’s a reflection of our most treasured moments and milestones. For Tabitha, her wedding ring was no exception. But after four years of marriage, she felt her original ring could get a fresh breath of life. She reached out to us with a vision—not just to redesign her ring, but to transform it into a timeless wedding set that would honor her journey, her memories, and her future.
The Emotional Connection: Designing With Purpose
Tabitha’s original ring was a beautiful symbol of her love, with a peridot stone that carried the memories of her wedding day. But over time, its sparkle faded—scratches and scuffs dulled its once-vibrant glow. It no longer felt like the piece that marked the beginning of her journey with her husband.
For Tabitha, the peridot wasn’t just a stone—it was a reminder of her dreams and the life she had built. But she knew it was time to give it new life, to make it reflect the woman she had become and the future she was still building.
What moved us most was her connection to that original stone. She didn’t want to let go of it. She wanted to carry it forward, renewed—filled with fresh energy, but still holding all the love and memories it had always symbolized.

The Design Journey: Bringing a Vision to Life
The design process began with Tabitha sharing photos of her existing ring and the peridot with Tricia, her personal master designer. From the moment they started brainstorming, the possibilities felt endless. But one idea stood out—a wedding band that would wrap around the engagement ring like a crown, gently cradling the stone. It wasn’t just a visual concept; it was a statement. The band “hugging” the gemstone became a perfect metaphor for the love, support, and unity Tabitha shares with her husband.
The design had to feel timeless, regal, and delicate all at once—something that would reflect their bond but also stand the test of time. It was a delicate balance of art and emotion, but Tabitha knew that this was the ring she had always dreamed of.

Giving the Peridot a Fresh Life
After years of wear, the peridot stone was in need of a little TLC. While peridot is a beautiful and vibrant stone, it’s softer than diamonds and susceptible to scratches. On the Mohs scale of hardness, it only rates 6.5-7, making it more prone to wear over time. So before resetting the stone, we carefully polished it, removing all the scuffs and restoring its natural glow. The result? A stone that looked almost brand new—bright, radiant, and full of life once again.

Tabitha couldn’t help but smile as she saw the peridot’s renewed brilliance. It was as if the ring was ready to start a new chapter with her.
The Final Result: A Ring That Tells a Story
When Tabitha finally saw her redesigned wedding set, she was overcome with emotion. The ring was a masterpiece—a delicate, regal band that now wrapped around the peridot like a crown, elevating its beauty while also protecting it. The peridot glowed with new life, its vibrant green hue shining in contrast to the cool, elegant platinum setting.
