Gator Skull Ring – Luke Pelletier
When Luke Pelletier, a talented artist from Los Angeles, approached us with the idea of transforming one of his distinctive sketches into a piece of jewelry, we knew this would be the perfect partnership.
It was Luke’s iconic gator design, a recurrent motif in his artworks that he wanted to bring to life in jewelry form. Previously he has scoured the internet for a gator ring and in the end he decided a custom made ring with JewelryThis would be the best way to achieve what he had envisioned.

The jewelry journey:
The jewelry journey began with excitement, aiming to honor Luke’s iconic symbol in a meaningful way through jewelry, we set out to explore the best way to feature his gator in a custom ring. Luke, being both an artist and a sculptor, had sculpted a bronze skull that became the perfect spot for the gator to rest. Our talented team of goldsmiths and designers worked together to sketch out Luke’s gator ring design into a wearable piece of jewelry art.

Upon finalizing the sketch, our skilled 3D modelers meticulously crafted the ring ensuring precise replication of every detail—the scales, teeth, and overall shape as the gator encircles the skull. With a bit of fine tuning, the 3D model was complete and turned into a stunningly realistic, true-to-life image of the ring.

Understanding the significance of this unique piece, we aimed for a flawless fit. To ensure perfection, we sent Luke a resin model of the ring. Although he initially intended to wear it on his right hand, after trying it on his left hand, he preferred the look. To accommodate his preference, we flipped the orientation to mirror the design so the direction of the skull was in a better position.

Next, we collaborated closely with Luke to choose the gemstones, metal type, and finish for his ring. His choice was striking: a lustrously polished yellow gold, accentuated by bold, deep red ruby eyes meticulously set into the skull.
