A Trip’s Memories Set in Tanzanite

The Jewelry Journey
Suzanne was ready to fly home from Tanzania after a memorable and adventurous trip. Her bags were packed, her passport in the right pocket, and she was all set to leave. But when her flight was unexpectedly delayed by 48 hours, she found herself exploring a local tanzanite museum. There, she was captivated not only by the stunning blue-purple hues of the gemstones but also by the mining process and tanzanite’s importance to the local economy.
During her extra two days in Tanzania, Suzanne made new friends, tasted incredible food, and soaked in the beauty of the local area. She tried, unsuccessfully, to find a suitable memento in the museum gift shop—a tanzanite ring that could capture the spirit of her serendipitous detour.
Once home, Suzanne reached out to JewelryThis to bring her vision to life. We carefully considered every detail to create a piece that would be visually stunning, meaningful, and durable enough to wear every day. Our gemstone suppliers scoured the world to find Suzanne’s perfect trillion-cut stone—a thrilling journey in itself. Once the gem in the deep blue hue she had imagined was found, our master goldsmith 3D-scanned the tanzanite to capture its unique specifications.
This allowed our design team to craft the perfect ring mount for her stone and share a photo-realistic rendering of the final piece. During the final stage, Suzanne was even able to see a 1:1 resin version of her ring using 3D printing technology, ensuring it matched her vision perfectly. Every detail mattered—especially the color of the band, which Suzanne wanted to perfectly complement the vibrant tanzanite.
The Result
is exactly what Suzanne dreamed of: a delicate 14K rose gold band showcasing a dazzling 1.22-carat trillion-cut tanzanite in the bluest of blues.

“Thank you!“The tanzanite sourced for my ring is spectacular! I love the little flair on the side of the ring too. Unexpected but sassy like me. The combination of rose gold and the trillion cut tanzanite make the ring so special to me. This ring will always remind me of my trip to Tanzania. Also, Tricia really understood my project idea and communicated the status updates well. From beginning to end, the process was straightforward and quick. “
