There are custom jewelry projects that begin with a shape, a gemstone, or a particular style. Then there are pieces where the jewelry needs to capture something much deeper: a person’s identity, story, and journey.

Kasanova Sloan’s Kobra pendant was exactly that kind of project.

This was not about simply designing a striking snake pendant. The Kobra already had meaning, recognition, and a story behind it. Our challenge was to take something that already existed as part of Kasanova’s artistic identity and translate it into a tangible piece of custom jewelry.

That meant every decision mattered. The proportions, details, structure, and overall presence of the pendant needed to work together to create something that felt intentional and unmistakably connected to Kasanova.

What began as an idea would eventually move through concept development, detailed 3D modeling, and production to become a finished custom pendant.

But before the design could take shape, we first needed to understand the story behind the Kobra.

The Kobra Was Already Part of the Story

Before we put pencil to paper or began building the custom pendant in 3D, we first needed to understand what the Kobra meant to Kasanova Sloan.

The Kobra began as a character, but over time, it evolved into something far more personal. It became a symbol of Kasanova’s identity, mindset, and journey as an artist. Creating a piece of custom jewelry around it meant understanding the meaning behind the symbol before deciding how it should look in metal.

The choice of a cobra was intentional. For Kasanova, it represents confidence, precision, patience, danger, intelligence, and the ability to know exactly when to strike. These qualities were not simply characteristics of the animal. They were qualities he wanted the Kobra to embody.

That is where the power of the symbol comes from. A cobra has presence without needing to demand attention. It can remain still, observe, and wait. Then, when the moment is right, it moves with precision. That sense of controlled power resonated deeply with Kasanova and the way he wanted to represent himself as an artist.

The custom jewelry design therefore needed to capture that same energy. The Kobra had to feel powerful without being excessive, confident without trying too hard, and distinctive without becoming overly complicated.

Even the name itself was part of the story. It is Kobra with a K. That deliberate spelling connects the symbol directly to Kasanova. It transforms the familiar image of a cobra into something uniquely his, turning what could have been a simple snake motif into a recognizable part of his identity.

This distinction was important when we began developing the pendant. We were not simply creating a snake-inspired piece of jewelry. We were translating an established symbol, its meaning, and the personality behind it into a physical form.

The meaning came first. Now, it was time to turn that meaning into a design.

From Inspiration to Concept Sketch

Once we understood the story behind the Kobra, the next step was translating that story into a visual concept. Working with his master designer Tricia the design process begins to move from imagination into something tangible

A concept sketch gives us the opportunity to explore the silhouette, proportions, expression, and overall personality of a piece before committing to the technical details.

With the Kobra pendant, the cobra head had to be the hero. We focused on creating a strong silhouette and a recognizable cobra profile while maintaining the dimensionality necessary for a substantial piece of jewelry.

The goal wasn’t simply to draw a cobra. It was to capture the presence of a cobra. That meant considering the shape of the head, the hood, the facial expression, the positioning of the eyes, and how the entire form would read when worn.

A successful custom design has to work as an image first, but it also has to work as jewelry. That’s an important distinction. Something can look incredible on paper and still need significant refinement before it can become a comfortable, durable, wearable piece.

Bringing the Kobra Into Dimension

With the concept established, we moved into one of the most exciting stages of the custom jewelry design process: bringing the Kobra into 3D.

Until this point, Kasanova had been looking at a two-dimensional concept. The 3D model changed that. For the first time, he could see his custom pendant as an object rather than an idea on a page. He could view the Kobra from different angles, understand its proportions, and start to visualize how the pendant would actually look when worn.

This stage also gave us the opportunity to refine the design with much greater precision. We could build up the depth of the cobra’s head, shape the contours, adjust the proportions, and determine how much weight and dimension the pendant needed to achieve the bold presence Kasanova was looking for.

At the same time, the 3D model allowed us to consider the practical details essential to turning the design into physical jewelry. The curves needed to flow naturally, the features needed enough definition to remain clear during production, and the overall structure needed to feel substantial without becoming unnecessarily bulky. We also carefully considered the size and placement of the ruby eyes, ensuring they added the striking, captivating look that gives the Kobra its distinctive presence.

Even the smaller elements had a role to play. The bail, which connects the pendant to the chain, needed to feel integrated into the design rather than added as an afterthought. Every detail had to work together from every angle.

This is one of the advantages of creating custom jewelry through 3D modeling. The client gets to experience the design before production begins, while we can carefully assess its structure and make adjustments before it becomes metal.

For Kasanova, this was the moment when he could truly start to see his Kobra as jewelry. The character had depth, the design had dimension, and the idea was becoming something he could eventually wear.

From 3D Model to Finished Pendant

Once the design was finalized, the digital model began its transition into the physical world. This is where precision and craftsmanship become just as important as creativity. The approved design moved through production and casting, followed by finishing, polishing, and the setting of the ruby eyes.

The finished pendant was carefully inspected to make sure the proportions, details, and overall finish reflected the original design.

A 3D render can show us what a pendant is supposed to look like. The finished piece tells us whether we succeeded.

And after moving from concept to 3D model to finished jewelry, the Kobra was finally ready for the person it was created for.

Then Came the Best Part: Holding the Kobra

There is a moment in every custom jewelry project that never gets old. It’s the moment the client finally sees the finished piece in person.

When you’ve watched something move from an idea to a sketch, from a sketch to a 3D model, and from a digital model into a physical piece, the wait for that final moment can feel very long. Then suddenly, it’s there. The Kobra is no longer a character on a screen. It’s no longer a concept. It’s a real piece of jewelry.

” I couldn’t be happier with how my Kobra pendant turned out it came out exactly as I envisioned it. The size, shine, craftsmanship, and ruby eyes give it the bold presence I wanted for my brand. You can tell there was real attention to detail throughout the entire process, from the design to the finishing touches. This isn’t just a piece of jewelry to me; it’s a statement piece that represents Kasanova Sloan and the Kobra identity.” – Kasanova Sloan –

Wear Your Story. Wear Your Brand.

The idea behind the Kobra can be summed up simply: Wear your story. Wear your brand.

Not necessarily a business logo or even your name, but the experiences, values, symbols, and ideas that have shaped who you are.

For Kasanova Sloan, the Kobra represents confidence, patience, precision, intelligence, and knowing when it is time to strike. It also represents his journey from serving in the Army to becoming an independent artist and building an identity of his own.

What began as a character evolved into a personal symbol. Through the custom jewelry design process, that symbol became something tangible that he could wear. That is what we believe custom jewelry should do. It should capture something personal and turn it into something you can carry with you every day.

If you have a story, symbol, memory, or idea that means something to you, create custom jewelry that brings it to life.
