A Symbol of Solidarity, “We Will Dance Again”.

In a world where tragedy can strike unexpectedly, it is often the response of individuals that shines the brightest light in the darkness. Michael Ostreicher’s story is a testament to the power of empathy, resilience, and the unwavering human spirit.

Michael, a 42-year-old husband and father of four from Woodmere, New York, found himself deeply impacted by the tragic events of October 7, 2023. The attack on innocent civilians during the Nova Music Festival in Israel shook him to his core, igniting a newfound connection to the land and people of Israel.

Driven by a desire to make a difference, Michael embarked on a transformative journey of solidarity. Alongside 17 other men from his congregation, he traveled to Israel on a “Solidarity Mission” to witness firsthand the aftermath of the devastating events. From visiting wounded soldiers in military hospitals to sponsoring barbeques at army bases, Michael immersed himself in the stories of resilience and strength that emerged from the tragedy.

The Nova Music Festival, where young lives were tragically cut short, left an indelible mark on Michael’s heart. The innocence and joy of the young victims, who were advocates for peace and love, struck a chord within him. Their untimely deaths served as a stark reminder of the senseless violence that can be inflicted upon the innocent.

Throughout his journey, Michael witnessed the unwavering resolve of the Israeli people. Despite facing unimaginable challenges, they stood united, drawing strength from each other and the outpouring of support from around the world. The slogan “We Will Dance Again” encapsulated their spirit of defiance and determination to rise above adversity.

Inspired by the courage and resilience he encountered, Michael sought to carry a piece of this experience with him—a tangible symbol of remembrance and hope. He envisioned a pendant that would honor the memory of the Nova Festival victims while embodying the spirit of resilience and unity that defined his journey.

JewelryThis, in collaboration with Michael, brought this vision to life.
