A Family Tradition

We believe in the importance of family and tradition, so when we were asked to create this very symbolic and traditional pendant we couldn’t say no. In this story, Andrea came to us with a request to make a pair of pendants for her son’s wedding day for him and his future wife to wear. These weren’t just any old pendant. These pendants were the same ones that Andrea and her husband have; a special and symbolic token shared from generation to generation. The pendants ( as seen below) are double-sided with slightly different faces. The message along the outside is Latin for “together even when apart”. The memories, stories of special moments, and love symbolized by these pendants are evident in both their design and the unique and special tradition they carry.

The Jewelry Journey
Any time a jewelry piece has to be custom designed in time for a specific deadline, a little extra pressure is added to the jewelry design and production process, but when the jewelry is also supposed to be worn such a special day like a wedding, that pressure seems to go through the roof. Despite the pressure, we are happy to say that our team of highly-skilled master jewelers was able to perfectly capture the details of the pendant just as Andrea’s son remembered the pendants that were worn by his mother and father for many years before. However, once the design was approved by Andrea, we still weren’t out of the woods. Casting these detailed pendant faces proved to be quite challenging. Several false casts due to porosity issues, added still more pressure, as the wedding date was fast approaching. To make sure we could get the pendants done in time, our team decided to cast multiple pendants so that the odds of getting a perfect set was much higher. At last, in what felt like the final moments, our hard-working team of master goldsmiths managed to cast four beautiful pendants successfully! The additional two pendants Andrea chose to keep for her other children to receive and wear on their future wedding days and the fourth… a gift from us for the very first grandchild.

Andrea’s son and daughter in law on their magical wedding day
They absolutely loved the pendants. They both were wearing the necklace with the pendant at the wedding. You can see it on the bride (the groom had it under his shirt). There is a short video here
I also attached a picture of the young couple. Thank you for everything.

Thank you so much for sharing! What a beautiful wedding. I shared your photos and video with the team, and we all agreed that it is one of the best wedding videos we have ever seen. We truly appreciate the opportunity to help you make the event even more memorable.

Andrea and her family loved their pendants so much she chose to keep the additional cast pendants for her other children to wear when they eventually get married. We hope we hear from Andrea’s children and grandchildren for many years to come as they keep their family tradition alive.
