A 60th Birthday Pendant That Tells a Story of Resilience and Hope

The Inspiration: A Year That Changed Everything
Meet Anne, a woman defined by resilience. When life presented its hardest trials, she met them with unwavering courage and quiet strength.
In 2022, that strength was tested. Over the course of six months, she endured a heart attack, the loss of her beloved dog of over 13 years, a cancer diagnosis, and cataract surgery. It was a season of profound challenge—but Anne carried on, step by step.
Now, as she celebrates her 60th birthday—a milestone she once feared she wouldn’t reach—Anne has chosen to mark the moment with something deeply personal: a piece of jewelry that reflects not just what she’s been through, but who she has become. A symbol of survival, strength, and the beauty of moving forward.
Designing the Vision: Turning Meaning into a Masterpiece.
When Anne approached us she had the beginnings of a powerful idea. She knew she wanted to incorporate two awareness ribbons and three meaningful gemstones—red for heart health, blue for colon cancer, and green for mental health.
What she wasn’t sure about was how to bring all those elements together into one cohesive, wearable piece. That’s where we come in—transforming personal stories into timeless, meaningful designs.

Anne’s inspiration – two awareness ribbons
Working hand in hand with her Master Designer, Luce, Anne opened up—sharing not just her vision, but the deeply personal story behind it. With every exchange and thoughtful revision, her pendant slowly took form, evolving from a spark of inspiration into a powerful, wearable tribute to her journey.

Sourcing the Stones: Color with Meaning
Every gemstone in Anne’s pendant was chosen with deep intention. The red stone represents the heart attack she survived. The blue symbolizes her battle with cancer. The green honors her mental health journey through an emotionally challenging year. These weren’t just accents—they were emblems of strength, each color telling a chapter of Anne’s story.
To bring that vision to life, we took great care in sourcing high-quality stones that matched her exact color palette. Many were selected in larger sizes to achieve the perfect hue, then hand-cut to fit seamlessly into her custom design.

The Finished Pendant: A Story in Metal and Stone
When Anne held her finished pendant for the first time, it was more than she imagined—an emotional moment that marked the transformation of her story into something she could wear close to her heart.
Crafted in 14k rose gold and set with natural rubies, blue sapphires, and a green emerald, the piece is both elegant and powerful. Each gemstone was chosen for its color and meaning, and together they form a beautiful tribute to everything Anne has faced and overcome.
Though she had seen sketches and digital renderings throughout the process, the final pendant exceeded every expectation. It is a delicate yet bold symbol of resilience, survival, and the quiet strength it takes to keep moving forward.

“When I started this, I had no idea what to expect. I was very happy with the process and love the finished product. You can never be sure what you are getting when you order something online, but the quality and craftsmanship are great, and I would recommend JewelryThis and Luce. The piece is beautiful, and the timing of receiving it—the anniversary of my heart attack—is perfect. Thank you again.” – Anne –
