Zircon is a beautiful, natural, and colorful semi-precious gemstone and resembles a diamond. It occurs in an array of colors from yellow to green, to red, reddish brown, and blue. Because of its name, it is sometimes confused with cubic zirconia, but they are two very different gemstones in terms of their chemical and structural properties as well as appearance. Zircon is also one of December’s three birthstones.
