A trellis setting is a type of prong setting where four interweaving prongs are shaped to hold the center gemstone in place. The prongs cross the setting, overlapping from each side. This type of setting adds detail to the sides of the ring because when viewed from the side, the prongs form an X, similar to a garden trellis.
