Hypoallergenic is used to refer to textile and cosmetic products that are unlikely to cause allergic reactions. Jewelry can also be hypoallergenic if it is made from pure metals such as copper, gold, platinum, stainless or sterling silver, or titanium. If someone suspects they are allergic to jewelry, they should look for jewelry marked ‘nickel-free’ to make sure that there is no nickel in the jewelry even below its finish. For tips about determining if you have jewelry allergies, please read jewelry allergies.
