Rose gold is a blend or an alloy made from pure 24-karat yellow gold, copper, and silver. The copper is what gives rose gold its glowing, pinkish color. The mix of metals is what gives rose gold its durability, which is more durable than white gold or yellow gold. Pure 24-karat, or yellow gold, is the base for all of the gold colors and qualities, but its pure state is too malleable to be used for jewelry.
