In jewelry, the term “table” refers to the flat surface on the top of a gemstone or the top of the gemstone’s crown. Its physical size depends on the overall size of the gemstone, which is why the table percentage is measured when grading the gemstone’s cut. To get the table percentage, the width of the table is divided by the width of the widest part of the stone. The table should be between 53% and 67% of the girdle diameter.
