Also known as hyaline quartz, rose quartz is a pink form of quartz. Its color can range from very light and almost imperceptible pink to rich, translucent pink. Rose quartz is most often cut into cabochons or beads in a way that can display its rich pink color. Some rose quartz, if cut in the correct way, will also display asterism in the form of a six-ray star. It has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.
