A knife-edge shank or knife-edge band features a sharp edge that goes around the outer circumference of the shank’s edge. The edge runs down the center of the shank, effectively separating the band into two sections on each side of the edge. It provides a modern and distinctive look and can be created for bands that are plain and simple or embellished with detailing elements such as pave or milgrain. The knife-edge can go around just half the ring or the entire ring.
