An eternity ring is made from a band of precious metal set with a continuous line of diamonds or gemstones. The unbroken line symbolizes eternal love. They are often given as anniversary rings but are sometimes used for wedding rings as well. Eternity rings are worn on the same finger as the engagement and wedding rings, usually between the two or just above the engagement ring which is just above the wedding ring.
