Custom-designed jewelry is crafted using original designs based on a person’s unique ideas and inspiration. Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America (MJSA) breaks custom-designed jewelry into three levels: full-custom design, which uses an original design and is made specifically per the individual’s request (full custom is the same as custom made); semi-custom designs, which are made per specific requests, but use or modify an existing design, and made-to-order, which use an existing design and only allow for modifications of size, gemstones or metals.
