Classic and elegant, the cathedral band has a raised profile featuring a center stone, typically held in place with a prong, bezel or tension setting, between two graceful arches. The setting gets its name because it resembles the architecture used for old cathedral buildings. Diamonds are often used as the center stone for this setting, but any gemstone will look beautiful. Some rings also have intricate design elements incorporated into the arches, shoulders, and shank.
