Bypass rings are characterized by two bands that overlap and separate or pass over each other at the top. Bypass rings can be set with diamonds or other types of gemstones. Some styles have stones between the two intersecting shanks or on each side of the intersection. Bypass rings were popular during the Victorian era, but the curves and twists it features gives it a contemporary, elegant and sleek look, so it is still a popular style today.
