A barrel clasp is a jewelry design element used to secure two ends together such as the ends of a necklace or a bracelet. The two halves of the clasp are identical and screw together. When fastened together, they are shaped and look like a barrel. Most barrel clasps can be tightened and loosened with screw action. They are available in just about all materials and platings and are most often used for necklaces and bracelets.
