Milgrain is a jewelry-detailing technique that adds texture and complexity to a piece of jewelry. With this technique, small, connected beads of metal are added along the jewelry piece’s borders to provide a delicate yet slightly sparkly look. Also spelled ‘millgrain’ or ‘milgraine’, the beads can come in a variety of sizes ranging from large enough to be very evident and integral to the design to so small you can barely see them. Milgrain is an especially popular look for engagement rings and wedding rings.
