The center stone is the single stone, usually the most prominent, found in the center of a piece of jewelry. While many jewelry pieces have multiple stones, the center stone is the focal point and is often surrounded by smaller stones, making it the most admired detail of the jewelry piece. Diamonds are the most popular of all center stones, but other gemstones such as sapphires, emeralds and rubies are also used. Center stones can come in a variety of cuts, shapes, and sizes.
